Partner Andrew Baum was quoted in a USA Today article, “Redskins Lose Ruling on Name in District Court, Have Hope on Appeal,” on July 9, 2015. The article discussed the Washington National Football League team losing its trademark battle when a federal judge ordered the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to schedule cancelation of six federal trademarks owned by the club and ruling the team’s name, Redskins. Baum was quoted saying, “The district court took a fresh look at the whole record and said that the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board got it right…It is very possible the Federal Circuit will come to a different conclusion.”
